Giovanni Furlanetto studied at the “Pedrollo” Conservatory of Vincenza, where he graduated in singing under Luisa Romana Righetti while he was haven his first professional experiences als actor.
He immediately became popular winning in 1988 the “Opera Company of Philadelphia - Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition” and performing in many important Italian and foreign productions.
His big versatility as actor brought him to be acclaimed as performer in the title role of Don Giovanni in Glyndebourne in 1995 and at the Opera Giocosa di
Savona in 1996, when he met an outstanding success (“...wonderful voice and big staging verve...a complete character, funny and fascinating, authentic spotlight-chaser on the stage...”, Roberto Iovino, La Stampa).
His wonderful career brought him to perform in the principal international theatres, such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Teatro Regio di Torino, the Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino, the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, the Opéra Bastille de Paris, the Festival of Salzburg, the Teatro Comunale die Bologna, the Teatro
Petruzzelli di Bari, the Teatro Regio di Parma, the New Israeli Opera of Tel Aviv, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Radio Vara in Amsterdam,
the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Festival Donizettiano of Bergamo, the Festival of Marina Franca, the Mozart Festival of Madrid. He also performed in
the theatres of Santiago (Chile), Montréal, Philadelphia, Trieste, Seville, Lille, Aix-en-Provence, Toulouse, Nice, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, Montpéllier and
Lyon. He worked with such conductors as Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Daniele Gatti, Zubin Mehta, and Riccardo Muti and with such stage directors als Dario Fo and Luca Ronconi.
Ideal interpreter of Mozart and Rossini`s repertoires, during his career he was much acclaimed for his performances in Il barbiere die Siviglia (Don Basilio), Aida (Re), Luisa Miller (Walter e Wurm), Linda di Chamounix (Prefetto),

In 1997/98 he sang at the Teatro alla Scala in Il cappello di paglia di Firenze (Nonancourt), at the Staatsoper of Hamburg in Don Giovanni (Leporello), in Toulouse in La Bohème
(Colline), at the Teatro dell`Opera in Roma in Giulio Cesare (Curio) and in Santiago, Chile in Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro).
